    • Sun, 22nd MG Car Club Cobweb Run

    The MG Car Club – Tyne-Tees Centre are particularly pleased to be returning to Brocksbushes Farm again this year for their annual Cobweb Run.    This event will be taking place on Sunday 22nd April and we welcome all visitors to Brocksbushes to come and look at the cars that will be on display.

    The cars will start assembling at Brocksbushes from approximately 9.30 am on the Sunday morning before leaving for an 80 plus mile run through the National Park and countryside of Northumberland.   The oldest cars will be leaving first at around 10.30 am and it is hoped that some MG’s dating from the early 1930’s will be taking part.    On their return in the afternoon from about 2.00 pm onwards, the cars will line up to form a display on the grassed area adjacent to the exit road from Brocksbushes Farm, whilst their owners go for a well earned cup of tea and a scone!

    This event is taking place on National “Drive it Day” in celebration of the start of the 1,000 mile Trial that first took place on Sunday 23rd April, 1900 when 64 cars set off from London.  Whilst we will not be covering anything like that distance, anyone with an MG or a Classic or Historic Vehicle or Motor Cycle, is most welcome to participate.    If you would like to enter this non-competitive road run with the MG Car Club Tyne-Tees Centre, you will be made most welcome and further details and an application form can be obtained from the Club’s Chairman, Peter Ebdon on info@peterebdon.com  or telephone 01434 344568.    It should be noted that this event has Motor Sport Association approval and the Police have been notified.    All entrants will receive a Rally Plate and Route Book.   Closing date for entries is 6th April 2012.
