Help save our strawberries!
Build a scarecrow to protect our crops! We have fields of asparagus, strawberries, raspberries, currants, gooseberries and pumpkins to guard and we need your help.
Our favourite scarecrow will WIN a day’s fruit picking for their family, including entry into the Pick Your Own fields and 4 free baskets of the fruit of your choice, worth £40-50!
1. Make your scarecrow
2. Take a picture of it with a sign saying ‘Brocksbushes Mission Scarecrow’ and post it on our social media/tag us @Brocksbushes
Closing date is Sunday 31st May 2020 and the winner will be announced soon after.
Keep hold of your scarecrow and bring it down to Brocksbushes when lockdown finishes! You are welcome to drop your scarecrow off at Brocksbushes before then, but ONLY if you are coming to the Farm Shop already. Please do not make an unnecessary trip.
Join our Facebook group ‘Brocksbushes Mission Scarecrow’ for ideas, help and to share your pictures!
Let your imagination run wild! There are no specifications other than it needs to scare away the crows – parts that move in the wind or make noise are welcome.
This is a great way to recycle old clothes, accessories and anything else you might normally throw away, such as plastic bottles, yoghurt pots etc – just make sure you clean it before using it. You can also use things you might find on your garden, such as fallen sticks and leaves.
It doesn’t need to be huge – it could be child sized or something we hang from the fence. Get creative!
