Get ready pumpkin lovers, The Pumpkin Experience is back this October and it's going to be our biggest and best year yet!

Every October, families from across Northumberland, Newcastle, and the wider North East join us at Brocksbushes for a pumpkin-picking day out like no other. Whether it’s your first time or an annual tradition, here’s everything you can look forward to this autumn:

MORE Photo Opportunities than ever before!

From giant pumpkin trees, our revamped famous pumpkin house to even a 'Little Brocks' Pumpkin Patch – everywhere you turn will be Insta-worthy.

Carving is BACK!

You asked, we listened – pumpkin carving is returning for 2025! Pick your perfect pumpkin in the field, then roll up your sleeves and get creative in our carving tent. Carving kits can be purchased at an additional cost.

NEW Family Ticket!

This year, we’re making it even easier for families to enjoy the Pumpkin Experience. Entry tickets are £3 per person (ages 3+), but we’re also offering a Family Ticket for just £10 – valid for up to 5 people.

Introducing WOOF Wednesdays!

Yes you heard that right, on Wednesday 22nd and 29th October only, we will be having dedicated dog-friendly days in the patch.

All we ask is that you keep dogs on leads at all times, and clear up after your dogs using the bins provided.

Enjoy thrilling rides*, take on our pallet maze, bale slides and try your hand at plenty of pumpkin games for all ages.

It’s not just pumpkin picking — it’s a full family day out in Northumberland!

*Carnival Rides will operate on a pay as you go basis.

NEW 'Twilight' Sessions

This year, we’re hosting a couple of magical Pumpkin Twilight Sessions – think live music, tasty street food, warming drinks, and twinkling lights under the stars among the pumpkin patch.

Twilight sessions will run on Friday 17th and Friday 24th October until 8pm.

Our 2025 Pumpkins

This year our farm team have planted over 160,000 pumpkins of various shapes, sizes and colours, all of which are edible as well as decorative.

Varieties include Flatso (flat with big ridges), Hoargarth (super warty) and One Too Many (animal print style patterned skin), as well as the Crown Prince (blue/grey), Mellow Yellow, Polar Bear (white) and Big Loretta (a big orange classic!)

Pumpkin Experience 2025 - FAQs

When is the Pumpkin Experience at Brocksbushes open?

The event starts on 4th October and is open across the following dates:

4th & 5th October

11th & 12th October

Every day from 17th - 31st October

We will also be hosting a couple of late night sessions, keep an eye on our website and social media for more information!

Do I need to book tickets in advance?

Yes. Tickets must be booked online in advance via our website. Spaces are limited and we expect peak times to sell out quickly – we recommend booking early to avoid disappointment.

How much are tickets to the Brocksbushes Pumpkin Experience?

Tickets to the Pumpkin Experience are £3 each for anyone aged 3 and above. We are also introducing a new family ticket for a family of up to 5 people for £10.

Please note that tickets include entry to the Pumpkin Experience but pumpkins are charged separately depending on size.

The rides within the Pumpkin Experience are also charged at an additional cost on a pay as you go basis.

Are tickets refundable?

Tickets are non-refundable and this is clearly stated in the terms and conditions.

If you would like to move your booking to another date, we will require at least 24 hours notice and will only be able to move you booking to a slot that is not sold out already.

Can I change my booking to a different day?

Yes, you can depending on availability.

Is pumpkin carving included?

Pumpkin carving is back for 2025! Once you've picked your pumpkins you can purchase a carving kit at the tills in our carving tent if you'd like to stay and carve your pumpkins.

What food & drink will be available?

This years food village features:

  • Brocksbushes Bites - serving a range of delicious homemade Brocksbushes food, sweet treats, drinks and more.
  • Fire & Dough - serving wood-fired pizzas
  • The Big Banh - fresh Vietnamese street food
  • Churro van - for those warm sugary treats!

Plus our Courtyard Kitchen will be open as usual for those who would like to dine inside, no booking required

Are there activities for children?

Absolutely! As well as making the most of the photo opportunities in the patch, kids can enjoy our range of pumpkin-themed games within the fields, bale slide and our brand new pallet maze all for free.

There will be a range of rides and attractions on site too which you can access and pay for on the day.

What should I wear?

The Pumpkin Experience takes place outdoors on a working farm. Please dress for the weather, wear sturdy shoes or wellies, and be prepared for mud – especially if it’s been raining! We recommend waterproofs too as you never know with the British weather!

Is the Pumpkin Experience at Brocksbushes dog friendly?

This year we're excited to introduce Woof Wednesdays where you're more than welcome to bring your furry friends to the patch.

Please note this is only on Wednesday 22nd and 29th October. Dogs must be kept on leads at all times and owners must clean up after their dogs.

Is entry to the Play Barn included with my booking?

No, your ticket only includes access to the Pumpkin Experience. If you would like to access the Play Barn, you must book this as a separate ticket. Book the Play Barn here.

Is there parking at Brocksbushes?

Yes we have free on-site parking for all visitors

What happens if it rains? Can I get a refund?

The Pumpkin Experience is an all-weather activity and will be open in most weather conditions so please dress appropriately.

Is there is extreme weather and it is a risk to health and safety we will update you via email.

2025 is our biggest and best Pumpkin Experience yet! Expect more photo opportunities than ever before, the return of pumpkin carving, an expanded Food Village, new games, rides and attractions, plus our brand-new Late Night sessions with live music, drinks, and magical twinkly lights.
