What's new for 2025?!

This year 10 out of our 11 blocks of strawberries are now grown on tabletops! This makes strawberry picking much more accessible to those who struggle to pick from ground level.

Not only that, we have a brand new block of 'toddler tops' that are around half the size of a standard tabletop and perfect for toddlers to pick from!

We also have a record number of strawberry plants this year, over 125,000! If you put these all in a line it would be the equivalent of 300 football pitches in length! Now that's a lot of strawberries...

Pick Your Own Fruit Calendar

We grow strawberries, raspberries, gooseberries, redcurrants & blackcurrants, plus plums and pumpkins. See our handy calendar for an idea of when each fruit is in season.

What Our Customers Say...

Pick Your Own FAQs

How much is it to pick fruit?

It is £2.40 per person aged 3+ to book your entrance time, once here you can pick as much or as little as you like. You then pay for the fruit you have picked, by weight, at the exit.

Do I need to book?

Yes – we carefully manage the amount of slots we release to ensure we have enough ripe fruit. This means there is enough for everyone who has booked. If you turn up without a booking, and we are already fully booked, we will deny entry.

Can we eat the fruit while in the fields?

Have a taste, but do not waste! We put a huge amount of time, effort and resources into growing the fruit, please respect our small business by paying for the fruit before you eat it. Anyone caught consuming large quantities before paying (or picking then dropping fruit) will be charged accordingly then ejected from the premises.

What is the best month to come strawberry picking?

Typically in the North East, strawberries will become ready around mid-June and will be available until mid-late August, with July being peak season.

What time are the strawberry fields open until?

When we are open for picking you must have a booked timed slot. There is no time allowance once you're in the fields, apart from our closing hours which is 5:30pm (4pm on Sundays)

Can I bring my dog?

Well-behaved dogs are welcome in our strawberry fields but MUST be kept on a lead and owners must clean up after their dog using the bins provided.

As we are a food premises unfortunately we do not allow dogs in the Farm Shop, except for assistance dogs.

We have our brand new outdoor dog friendly dining area, which is an extension of our Courtyard Kitchen, so you're more then welcome to bring your dog and dine with them there.

Are the fields wheelchair / pushchair friendly?

As we are a working farm there is uneven ground (including hills) which may be slippy, most of the paths are grass and between the rows may be strawed. For pushchairs, we recommend leaving them at the end of the rows while you pick. For those with accessibility needs, we would recommend visiting when the table top strawberries are open. They are raised off the ground – perfect for those in a wheelchair or unable to bend over. We would also recommend trying the bush fruits & raspberries, as they are further off the ground.
